Who is BKG KI in der Box suitable for?
For companies of any size that want to use AI without sending sensitive data to external services. Especially suitable for industries with high privacy requirements such as healthcare, finance, legal, and public administration.
Which AI models are available?
Depending on the plan, you get access to open-source models like Llama, Mistral, CodeLlama, Phi and more. We advise you on selecting the right models for your use cases.
Can I use my own models?
On request, we can integrate custom models or fine‑tune existing models on your data. This is only possible for the on‑premise box.
Privacy & security
How are privacy and GDPR requirements met?
On-premise: The box runs in your company network. Data never leaves your infrastructure. Cloud: Hosting exclusively in German data centers, dedicated instances, encrypted connections. We advise on individual compliance needs.
Is my data used for training?
No, never. Your data remains fully under your control and is not used to train models or for other purposes.
How secure is data transfer?
All connections are encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). The cloud variant additionally uses end-to-end encryption.
Is there a data processing agreement (DPA)?
Yes, we provide a GDPR-compliant DPA for all variants (cloud and on‑premise).
Hardware & technology
Which hardware is delivered?
The box is a powerful server in a compact form factor. Depending on the selected variant, we provide suitable CPU, GPU, and storage – fully preinstalled. Exact specs are available on request.
What system requirements are there?
On-premise: network (Ethernet), power, optional VPN for remote maintenance. Cloud: just internet connection and browser.
Can the box run offline?
Yes, the on-premise variant can run completely offline. For updates and support, an internet connection is recommended.
How loud is the hardware?
The systems are optimized for office use and run quietly. Exact decibel values are available on request.
Integration & usage
Can the box be integrated into existing IT?
Yes – via standard interfaces (REST API) we integrate your ERP systems, databases, or automations. Our experts support you.
Which programming languages are supported?
The REST API is language-agnostic and can be used with any programming language (Python, JavaScript, Java, C#, PHP, etc.). We provide code examples.
Can I train the AI with my own documents?
On request, we can implement this for you (e.g., RAG or fine‑tuning). Feasibility and scope are coordinated in advance.
Support & maintenance
How do updates and new models work?
We update models and underlying software regularly remotely or on-site as needed.
What happens in case of technical problems?
Support & monitoring are included. We help via email, phone, or remote access. Hardware defects are repaired or replaced on-site.
Is training available for my team?
Yes, initial training is included in the on-premise offer. Additional training can be booked individually.
How fast is support response?
Typically within 24 hours.
Contract & terms
Is there a minimum contract term?
On-premise: 3 months’ notice. Cloud: 1 month’s notice. Stay flexible.
What happens after the contract ends?
On-premise: You can buy the hardware at a fair residual value or we pick it up. Cloud: Data is deleted or exported by agreement.
Are there hidden costs?
No. Cloud pricing is transparent; on-premise is custom. Additional costs only for special requests by agreement.
